Get Involved!

Looking to get more involved?  There are many Rutgers Computer Science Clubs to choose from!  Our clubs offer a platform to collaborate with like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of community and expanding your network.   There are opportunities to participate in projects or hackathons that allow you a chance to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Network with your peers and industry professionals, open doors to internships, job opportunities, and valuable mentorship.

The Undergraduate Student Alliance of Computer Scientists (USACS) is Rutgers’ premier student organization for every and any aspiring computer scientist! We host weekly workshops on topics not taught in class, mentorship services and programs, outreach opportunities to alumni and companies, diversity and community bonding events, and technical project building / open-source contributions. Lastly, we host weekly meetings to examine the state of Rutgers CS and discuss future events. We are here to serve and listen to your wants and needs! Come to a meeting to find out more about what we offer!

Rutgers Organization of Cloud Computing (ROCC) aims to create a network for students interested in cloud computing. It provides a platform for discussions, debates, and socializing related to this field. It also helps students build their professional skills, such as resume building, and hosts speaker events to facilitate networking with cloud professionals. The main goal is to inform students about cloud computing careers and teach them the necessary skills to pursue them.

Rutgers Women in Computer Science (WiCS) provides a community in which women feel empowered to create with code. Our network connects female undergraduates to a social community, professional opportunities and each other. Throughout our mentorship program and community discussions, we are able to foster a sense of belonging and solidarity, creating a strong sisterhood for Rutgers women in tech. We encourage and promote educational and professional development through various networking events, tech talks and our alumni network. Come out to our meetings every Wednesday from 8-9 PM at the CAVE! Subscribe to our mailing list to be updated on our meetings and events! If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at rutgerswics@gmail.com.

RUSLUG is the Student Linux User Group (SLUG); an organization on campus focused on promoting the use and continued development of free and open-source software (FOSS) but invites any type of computer enthusiast to participate. This includes developers, system administrators, and tinkers. We emphasize that openness, sustainability, and security should be concerns of developers in how they distribute their software. In contrast to many other computing clubs on campus, SLUG gives much attention to hobbyist, historical, and other non-strictly commercial uses for computers. RUMAD_whole_red

RUMAD is the Mobile App Development Club at Rutgers. Our goal is to empower the Rutgers community by exploring and instructing on application development through our two programs: the Accelerator and the Incubator. Additionally, we strive to position our members for success in their software engineering careers through recruitment events, resume reviews, and more. Each fall, we mentor a group of students to start and complete projects involving both frontend and backend development in our Accelerator Program. The Incubator Program, which runs in the spring, gives mentees the opportunity to develop, market, and present a complete project while receiving direct mentorship and career advice from our senior mentors.
